Cardio Tennis is a high energy fitness activity that combines the best features of the sport of tennis with cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate, full body, calorie burning aerobic workout. It is a very social and fun class for players of all ability levels taught by a tennis teaching professional. If you’ve never played tennis before it is a great way to be introduced to the sport and if you are an experienced high level tennis player it is the best way to train for tennis. Most classes have mixed ability and some facilities offer classes which are more specific to ability/fitness level. However, regardless of ability or fitness level the tennis professional is trained to provide the ultimate workout for each person.

Are there any misconceptions about your activity that you would like to change?

You do not have to be able to play tennis and you take the class at your own pace.

How did your club start?

Established in 1906, Downend & Frenchay TC (formerly Downend & Fishponds LTC) is a friendly club on the outskirts of Bristol with top facilities and a great atmosphere. Located within the grounds of Frenchay Cricket Club DFTC has 4 outdoor floodlit courts which offer a range of playing and fitness opportunities. Today the club offers coaching for players at all levels and plays an active role in the community whilst competing in many of the local leagues.

We are a social inclusive club and welcome anyone to come and try out our coaching programme and/or membership.
