What’s the activity?
Join in Bristol’s Run 2K Challenge!
As part of Bristol’s year as European City of Sport we would like to get as many 4 to 14 year olds to complete a 2K this November. You can do this at anytime, anywhere but we would love you to come and join in the fun at one of Bristol’s three weekly Sunday junior parkruns and receive a free special edition wristband. Run or volunteer one Sunday, or run/ volunteer at them all, it’s your choice!
Which area of the city can run the furthest – North, Central/East or South?
- Kingsweston Estate, Kings Weston Lane, BS11 0UR
- Eastville Park, Fishponds Road, Eastville, BS5 6PX
- Windmill Hill, (at Victoria Park), Nutgrove Avenue, BS3 4QF
- junior parkrun takes place every Sunday. The November dates are: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th.
- Windmill Hill and Eastville Park events start at 9am. Kingsweston starts at 10am.
How to register
If you are already registered with parkrun you don’t need to register again – just bring your barcode to parkrun as usual. However, you should update your profile by selecting your area (see below.
If you are new to parkrun you need to register and obtain a barcode. Please check our advice on this page. Then:
Select your Area. At the ‘Running Club (Optional)’ section click the ‘Select Club’ button. Select your local area that you live in from the dropdown, it will be either:
- Bristol North 2k Challenge
- Bristol Central & East 2k Challenge
- Bristol South 2k Challenge
Registering for one of the Clubs/ Areas will record your activity as part of the 2K Challenge, so please do join one of the three.
Select ‘Home Run’. Select your potential first run location from the list called ‘Home Run’. These are listed as: “Windmill Hill junior parkrun”; “Eastville junior parkrun”, and “Kings Weston junior parkrun”. Knowing your Home Run helps parkrun know where you run most, and to identify you, but you can run at any junior parkrun.
Print off and bring your runner’s barcode with you on the day, to record your distance for your area, and to collect your special edition wristband!
