Yesterday saw the Grand Re-Opening of the BMX track at Henacre. Bristol City Council, Access Sport and Sport England have been working together to provide five sites to be situated in communities in Bristol that have the greatest need. The first two out of the five sites are Lawrence Weston and Hillfields.
The track situated in Lawrence Weston is a renovation of the current L’Dub track to a regional standard competition BMX track. The second site coming soon is in Hillfields, a new BMX track will be built in the location of the existing pump track behind Hillfields Youth Centre.
Access Sports are developing a BMX club and coaching sessions with free equipment available at L’Dub Track. Keep up to date through the L’Dub BMX Facebook page. There will be sessions on Saturday mornings from 30th June, running from 10am to 12pm. First session free then £1 per session.
